Having lived in Missouri for 20 years, I consider myself a Midwesterner through and through. After completing high school, I attended the University of Missouri (Columbia, MO) where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Spanish. During my four years of college, I worked as an EMT-B in the local Emergency Department, assisting in the care of critically ill patients. Prior to graduating college, I was blessed to be accepted into the University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program (Iowa City, IA). My wife and I were excited to stay in the Midwest and quickly fell in love with Iowa. I am privileged to serve the Mount Pleasant / Henry County community and to make this my new Midwestern home. In my practice of medicine, I am committed to a strongly patient-centered approach: I am here to partner with you, to listen, to make decisions together, and to equip you with the tools you need to live a healthy life. I am a medical “minimalist”: I’m not going to throw prescriptions and procedures at you if I don’t think they will help. While these have their place and can be
beneficial, I believe that finding the root cause and empowering you to take ownership of your own health will have the greatest success in the long run. As a Family Practice clinician, I love building long-term relationships with patients of all ages and am equipped to address your preventative, acute, and chronic needs. My interests outside of medicine include spending time with my family, being involved in my church, trying new foods, hunting deer, playing piano, picking up a game of volleyball, and following St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
